Our Company

La Casa Day Spa and La Casa Resort Spa, are all based on the concept of 5elements healing. We believe that the earth is an abundance of riches: Mother Earth has every ingredient, every substance that is necessary for the maintenance and the restoration of health. We believe that using the 5 elements in our daily lives gives a profound sense of awareness of and trust to this earth we share with all its other living beings.

Our Literature

Since 1986, when Jane Goldberg first founded La Casa Resort Spa in Puerto Rico, then to the founding of La Casa Day Spa, and all the way through to 2001 when she first opened the doors to Insparations, the day spa at the 92nd Street Y, guests and clients have been insistent (and persistent) about their interest in having written material for them to bring back to their homes. They have wanted health recipes from La Casa Resort Spa, information on detoxification, the rationale for which water should be drunk – all the material that is in the hearts and minds of the staff of her spas. In response to that demand, Dr. Goldberg have written a book: Insparations: if you can do it at a spa, you can do it at home.

There is a saying in Puerto Rico which reflects the warmth and hospitality of its people: mi casa, su casa; my house is your house. We would like to reverse that saying: su casa, mi casa; your house is my house. We would like to give to people the knowledge that will enable them to transform their own homes into their own version of our spas. We feel that this is the greatest gift we can give.

Over the years, Dr. Goldberg has read, researched and studied most of the world’s traditions of natural healing, nutrition and methods of detoxification. In her book, she has integrated and implemented what she considers to be the best and most effective aspects of these approaches. We have found that even a short exposure to her program of 5 elements healing is rejuvenating and brings to its participants a soul-deep calmness.

Dr. Goldberg is the author of three other published books: Psychotherapeutic Treatment of Cancer Patients; Deceits of the Mind (and their effects on the body); and The Dark Side of Love: the positive role of our negative emotions. Her two most recent books -- Mother and Daughters: Love and Meaning in the Search for Separation and The Project: 9 + or - 2 are both forthcoming.
