ABOUT US

A STAY AT LA CASA IS A PAUSE IN TIME.

La Casa is where the warm sun kisses a serene and pristine world in which we can attune ourselves to the
whispers of the wind,
feel the heartbeat of the Earth, and
sense the magic beneath our feet.

The New York Times review of La Casa said: “A visit to La Casa leaves you feeling otherworldly.”

OUR OFFER TO YOU: Come for a day or come for a while.

  • Daily anti-inflammatory diet (per request);

  • Private accommodations: each featuring a deck with a view of distant splendor and a private bathroom;

  • Nature walks and hikes: to our gardens, to our wilderness, to the river, to the top of our mountain;

  • Body/Mind Therapies;

  • Herbal attunements from La Casa’s plants tailored to your needs and intentions.

A visit with us gives you a space for reconnection to our first, most important mother, Mother Earth, and to remember your innate, ecological wisdom. Allow yourself to take time for deep listening and attuning to the natural rhythms of where you and Earth meet. We think of it as a re-tuning to Earth-Time when we come to have a deeper presence with wild but tended land, with yourself, and with our La Casa community.

We invite you to explore a treasure trove of activities on our 9-acre farm, nestled in the foothills of the El Yunque rainforest. At La Casa, we are dedicated to fostering a lifestyle to live in harmony with the natural environment that surrounds us, respectfully drawing from it, and humbly giving back to it to ensure its continued flourishing.

The views and sounds on our property are exquisitely panoramic and embody the untamed spirit and wild embrace of the rainforest. Look to the right to see the grand peaks of El Yunque; look to the left for the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. The tiny tree frogs, known as coquis, will lull you to sleep, and you’ll awaken to the delicate melodies of singing birds or the persistent crowing of our rooster. Stroll along our paths and stumble into a grove of our many papaya trees; gaze upward at the tops of our towering eucalyptus trees; or lie in the grass next to a patch of what looks like a carpet of orange, but is a bounty of fallen mangos, covering the ground in their brilliant hue.

Visual artistic expression is one of the vibrant heartbeats of our community. Wherever there is a wall, a floor, or an exterior surface of a structure, you will see original hand-painted art. Every space serves as an illustrative canvas for the vision of one of our community members.

As a working farm, we live in harmony with the animals we love and honor, and we maintain gardens where we grow fruits and vegetables to feed both our animals and ourselves.

Our approach

We invite you to experience the restorative and deeply cleansing journey that has garnered worldwide recognition.
The New York Times Magazine described our popular Body Polish as “coming close to magical realism”
and mentioned that a visit to La Casa “leaves you feeling otherworldly.”

Eco-Living

  • when being lulled to sleep by the symphonic sounds of tiny coquis is the way to go;

  • where the water you drink is captured and condensed from the pristine air of a tropical rainforest (drinkable air technology);

  • where our energy source includes solar, and no toxic materials have been used in buildings or on the land.

Holistic Health

  • when you allow us to attend to your mind/body/spirit wants to be your way of life;

  • where you are facilitated to live according to proven principles of whole-health nutrition and detoxification;

  • where our fresh, un-chemicalized menu of foods is a treat for your palate and digestive tract.

5 Element Healing

  • when we recognize that underlying the material, physical realm is the more rarified world of the five elements—
    earth, water, fire, air, and sky;

  • when we realize that each of us holds the energies of all elements, present at every level of our being—our physical body, psychological make-up, and spiritual self—and that we embody them in varying proportions, and that it is this vast range of proportions that provides the splendid and dazzling array of differences among us;

  • when we understand that when these proportions are imbalanced, they can make us vulnerable to various problems: health issues, psychological imbalances, and spiritual bereavement;

  • when we understand that balance among the elements—the right amount, at the right time, and at the right level of intensity—is essential for physical health, emotional stability, and spiritual richness.

Bio-Hacking

  • when you decide to upgrade not just your body, mind, and spirit but to transform your entire life using modern tools of science, biology, and quantum physics.

  • They are vital to sustaining the ecosystems of planet Earth.

  • Tropical rainforests contain 50% of all the Earth’s species of plants and animals.

  • Rainforests contain a third of the world’s bird species and 90% of its invertebrates.

  • 25% of all our medicines come from plants growing in the rainforest.

  • 80% of the world’s diet originated from rainforest plants.

  • Rainforests provide 20% of the world’s oxygen and have been called the “lungs of the world.”

  • El Yunque is the only rainforest within the National USA forest system.
